Who We Are

Contact

KESC, the Karmiel English Speakers' Club is a registered non-profit organization . According to our constitution our goals are:

  1. To serve as a place for entertainment, recreation and counselling for English-speaking immigrants (olim), guests and visitors.

  2. To serve as a centre for volunteer groups for the benefit of the community.

Simple, yet lofty goals that are fun planning, as well as attending and leave you with a sense of pride and satisfaction after every event and activity.

We have no religious or political affiliation or agenda, just a lot of good people trying to make Israel a better place in our own modest way.

  • Our next Coffee With Friends will take place on Wednesday morning January 8th and 22nd at 11:30. Still only 15 shekels for members, 20 shekels for guests. Coffee , cake and people we care about, what could be better?

  • Thursday, January 16th, at 18:30 we will be having a Karaoke and Sing along. 20 shekels for KESC and ESRA members, 25 shekels for guests. Please inform Brian at info4kesc@gmail if you plan on attending. If you wish to sing, please inform Larry at rosenfeld.larry@gmail.com of what song you intend on singing.

  • Once again, KESC will be holding a celebration of Scotland’s National Poet, Robert Burns, with a Burns Night event on Sunday, 26 January 2025 at 16.00 at the moadon. NIS 25 for KESC & ESRA members, otherwise NIS 30.
There will be a serving of kosher, vegetarian haggis, made personally by Highland master chef, Irving Luchans, followed by dessert. Wine will be served and maybe even ‘a wee dram’ to keep out the winter chill!
The meal will be followed by the reading of a variety of Burns’s poems and Scotland-related anecdotes before we all sing ‘Auld Lang Syne’, led by the pipers of The Royal Scots Dragoon Guards, to conclude the evening.
If you would like to attend, PLEASE respond by email to info4kesc@gmail.com a.s.a.p. (it really is a must for catering purposes) stating the number of attendees and whether you would like to read a poem. If yes, a selection of Burns poems will be sent to you from which to choose a reading. Alternatively, you may wish to share a Scotland-related anecdote. We look forward to seeing you there!

  • The club's A.G.M will be on Monday, 27 January 2025 by Zoom at 19.00. Full details will be sent out by email in the near future.

Would YOU like to join the Programs Committee and/or the Management Committee? The club is looking for an infusion of 'new blood' to add ideas, suggestions and opinions on club activities and governance. Now is the chance to have your say on how the club is run.

If you are interested, please contact the secretary at info4kesc@gmail.com for further information. (In January 2026, the position of chairman will become vacant and a replacement will need to be found.)
